Social Distortion will be performing Monday, May 18th, at the House Of Blues Anaheim for Rock To Recovery – A Benefit For Jay Thomas And His Battle With Spinal Cord Injury.

Also performing will be The Vandals, The Black Tibetans and Japanese Motors. Tickets go on-sale Saturday, April 18, at 10:00am and will be available on-line through TICKETMASTER, or by phone at (714) 520-2385.

Proceeds go to the Jay Thomas Special Needs Trust.

On the morning of March 2nd, 2009, while surfing South of the pier in Huntington Beach, CA Jay suffered a C6 spinal cord injury (SCI) leaving his body limp from the chest down. With the help of an amazing medical staff and after two successful surgeries, Jay’s injury was determined to be an incomplete spinal cord injury. On Friday, March 13, after almost two weeks in intensive care, Jay was transferred to The Rehabilitation Center at Long Beach Memorial Hospital where he is currently receiving physical therapy five days a week.

On April 28, 2008, members of MIA with Jello Biafra and Kevin Seconds, Social Distortion, Cadillac Tramps, Jigsaw and Naked Soul got together at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, CA to create “Beautiful Noise” a benefit concert for The Mike Conley Family Memorial Fund. In addition, our friends over at Fender graciously donated a Sonora acoustic guitar for the event. The guitar is signed by every member of each band who performed that night including: Mike Ness, Jello Biafra and Kevin Seconds.
